Overview

The B-9 NH Urban Stealth is a handmade singlespeed bicycle inspired by the geometry and visual language of the F-117 Nighthawk aircraft. It represents the evolution of the earlier BME X-9 concept and combines a carbon fiber frame and fork, a one-piece carbon stem-handlebar, the S72 saddle system and custom CNC machined components.

The original version was finished in a matte black "stealth" coating, emphasizing the aircraft-inspired character. Later, a camouflage version was introduced, offering a more expressive visual interpretation of the same concept.

In 2026, the B-9 NH concept was further developed into the e-B-9 NH Mk II, introducing electric assistance while retaining the original design language.

Geometry and fit

The size of the bicycle is suitable for the rider's body height of 175-185 cm and inseam length of 82-86 cm.

Safety and testing

The BME Design components used on B-9 NH No. 2 — frame, fork, integrated handlebar and stem, saddle assembly and crankset — were subjected to laboratory testing and passed the required safety and quality tests according to the EN 14764:2006 standard. Testing was carried out by an accredited Engineering Test Institute in the Czech Republic.

Legacy and Future

The B-9 NH was originally developed with the ambition of producing a limited series of 100 bicycles. Ultimately, only three original frame sets were produced. No. 1 became the matte black Black Edition, while No. 2 received the distinctive camouflage finish. Both bicycles were used extensively for riding, photography, presentations and exhibitions.

The project did not continue into series production, as the investment required for low-volume carbon manufacturing proved too demanding despite strong interest.

Alongside the planned series of 100 bicycles, the original B-9 NH concept also envisioned a special series of ten all-white bicycles. Each was intended as a blank canvas for an internationally recognised artist, using the large, flat surfaces of the B-9 NH to create a unique piece of rideable art. The completed bicycles were to be auctioned, with part of the proceeds supporting charitable causes. The series was never realised.

The third original B-9 NH was never painted or assembled. All components required to complete the bicycle remain together, allowing its final appearance and specification to be created individually for its future owner. Discover B-9 NH / No. 3.

In 2026, No. 2 entered a new stage with its development into the e-B-9 NH Mk II, a lightweight electric evolution of the original B-9 NH using the Zehus HALOS all-in-one rear hub system.

Today, the B-9 NH story continues in two directions: No. 3 as the final unfinished original, and the e-B-9 NH Mk II as its electric evolution.
